A couple of architects were tired of seeing their two cats (a male and a female who were brothers) bored and decided to do something to distract them. To love for his pets was added his hobby to design practical things. With these two premises they began to think about how they could rethink cat products. And they decided to do what they knew best, houses, houses with cardboard boxes.
The first thing they took into account is that, like humans, cats need a space of their own. A warm and safe environment, with a suitable size for yours. They concluded that cats and humans should have their own differentiated space within the house. And so they came to found A Cat Thing.

They designed a modular city entirely designed for animals and for which they used cheap and recyclable material such as cardboard. They created four modules: living room, living room, balcony and ramp. The texture of the cardboard is very suitable for cats and they feel very comfortable inside. By being modular you can adapt to any housing size. Just add more or less modules or stack them in height.

The design is simple, but not simple. They themselves indicate on their website that “we have used values from the world of architecture to create the modules of cardboard, and make them so that everyone can attach them as they wish. We have created an arch shape to create doors and windows. And by matching the openings of the modules it allows you to create all a city for your cats”.
To create secure connections between modules they have used the properties of cardboard and the principles of origami. This does not require any kind of tool to be mounted.
A city with cardboard boxes to make your cats happy that can also serve as inspiration to build one yourself with different ones types of cardboard boxes Which, of course, you can easily get.
