World Recycling Day has been created in 2018 to help recognize the importance of recycling in preserving our precious primary resources and ensuring the future of our children on the planet. The intention is to repeat each year on the same date and consolidate it as a day to change the mindset of governments, businesses, communities and people around the world.
Recycling (whether industrial or domestic) saves more CO2 emissions per year than those generated by the entire aviation industry, while protecting the valuable natural resources of our planet.
The project was created with two missions:
Tell world leaders that recycling is simply too important not to be a global problem, and that a common approach is urgently needed for recycling.- Asking people of the whole planet thinking about the environment when it comes to the products around us to see recyclable materials as resources, not waste.
The expectation is great and the events took place around the world; from London, Paris, Washington DC, Delhi, Johannesburg, Dubai, Sao Paulo and Sydney to Nepal, Mongolia, Malaysia and New Zealand.
