Barcelona hosts the Free From Plastic Packaging show

Barcelona hosts Free From Plastic Packaging

On 28 and 29 May the Free From Plastic Packaging will be held in Fira de Barcelona dedicated to the non-plastic packaging sector. A hall focused on presenting novel alternatives to plastic specially designed for the food industry. It is a lounge that will take place in parallel with the Free From Functional & Health Ingredients fair, dedicated to the exhibition of “free” and functional foods.

At the end of May a fair to eliminate plastic in packaging will be opened in Barcelona

The Free From Plastics Packaging lounge is celebrated for the first time and born with the will to be the most specialized in Europe plastic-free packaging and plastic alternatives. This salon is aimed mainly at designers, manufacturers and traders of packaging intended for food use.

The living room will also consist of a sample, a complete conference programme aimed at attracting European leaders in the food processing and packaging sector. More than 300 companies from 34 countries will be present in the exhibition, including industry leaders such as ASPACK, Mintel, Eska, Granarolo, Ballyfabs International, Bio4Pack, Korea Pavilion, Pedon, Schnitzer and many others.

The free conference sessions will include a total of 60 presentations covering a wide range of market-related topics.

One of the most relevant events to take place in the hall Free From Plastics Packaging will be the Matchmaking programme organised by European Enterprise Network, a European initiative with which they are expected to agree 500 sessions from you to you between exhibitors and buyers from everyone.

As Ronald Holman, the show's director, explains, it was born out of "motivation from growing consumer awareness and the emergence of social movements such as Clean Seas or Turn the Tide on Plastics. Various packaging designers and producers," Holman continues, "told us they needed an event focused strictly on alternatives to plastic for the food and beverage industries." "By focusing exclusively on alternatives to plastic," he adds, "and ingenious packaging solutions beyond plastic, we want to offer trade fair visitors a comprehensive overview of the industry that they will not find at other shows with a more general view of the packaging sector.
