The Sasieta community will repeat the awareness campaign under the slogan “Quality compost thanks to you“ It’s all right. ” This campaign took place two years ago in Guipúzcoa and was a resounding success. It is expected that in June this year it will be equally successful, as it is an initiative with very good acceptance.
During the month of June, compost will be distributed free of charge to 14 municipalities of the Commonwealth and information will be given to citizens.
This is a gesture of gratitude to all the people who daily separate the waste in their homes and have achieved an average selective collection rate of 76% in the Sasieta community.
The rate achieved in 2020 exceeds the target of 70% recycling by 2030 set in the new 2019-2030 Waste Plan approved in Guipúzcoa.
For quality recycling it is necessary to reduce the level of inappropriate materials because it makes recycling difficult and also because of its environmental and economic consequences. Looking ahead, there are major challenges such as improving the quality of the material collected to close the cycle of sustainability.
The compost produced in Guipúzcoa, under the brand name “Gipuzkoako konposta ©”, meets all quality standards: it is a “A” class compost, a quality that is only achieved when the level of impropers does not exceed 5%.
Recycle, the simplest and easiest way to contribute to the care of the planet and make it a more sustainable place
