Corrugated cardboard
Corrugated cardboard

The corrugated cardboard is the result of the binding of several sheets of paper, which remain equidistant because one or more wavy ones are interspersed. This characteristic is that which confers on the cardboard the property of being indeformable.

The smooth outer leaves are called faces or covers. The intermediate leaves are called smooth faces. The undulating leaves that form the canals are called wavy, gut or “medium”.

The most common packaging in corrugated cardboard is the traditional flap box.

A SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE STRUCTURE
The simple-face (single face – SF) is the elemental module of all corrugated cardboard and consists of a smooth sheet (one face) and a wavy one, joined together with tail.

Adding a second face forms the double-face. If a second simple-face module is added to the double-face, it constitutes the
called double-double (DD).
