The Dutch chain Ekoplazaspecialized in organic and ecological products opens a new space in the center of Amsterdam taking advantage of citizen awareness with recycling. This new concept of Supermarket has been baptized as Ekoplaza Lab.
With Ekoplaza Lab, the international environmental action group A Plastic Planet and Ekoplaza show that a plastic-free world is possible. This merger was carried out through Plastic Soup Foundationof which Ekoplaza has been a partner ever since.

This new Dutch supermarket offers only bulk products or wrapped in paper, cardboard or other environmentally certified alternatives.
Ekoplaza Lab offers over 700 "plastic-free" food and beverage products, as well as avoiding this type of petroleum-derived compounds in bags and packaging for loading or packaging purchases being replaced by packaging of paper or paperboard.
This new supermarket model faithfully follows the business and product philosophy of the Ekoplaza group, which, as indicated on its website – We believe the ground is the basis of everything. If we treat the soil well, it will produce healthy and tasty products, rich in nutrients and full of flavor. You will find these products in our stores, without synthetic aromas, dyes, flavorings or preservatives, foods the way they should be.

Other slogans used by Ekoplaza challenge consumers to check the absence of plastics: "Do you think we can't do without plastic with food and drinks? Ekoplaza LAB proves otherwise! You can find no less than 680 organic products without plastic in our store”
From Fx Sanmarti We would like to reaffirm our commitment to the environment and support all kinds of initiatives aimed at replacing plastic products with other biodegradable products, such as paper and paperboard.

There are almost 700 plastic-free products at Ekoplaza LAB supermarket. Erik Does, general manager of Ekoplaza, is convinced of a future without plastics: "I don't dare hold on to him, but in the future our suppliers must be free of plasticsThat's what we'll eventually demand. To inspire and show the way to our consumers, together with the packaging industry and our suppliers, we want to take more steps: not in 5 or 10 years, but now».
