Nintendo Labo is offered individually in different Kits, each contains a set of pieces of pre-cut cardboard and other materials, which serve to create the Toy-Cons.
Labo was announced on January 17, 2018. According to the president of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime, «Labo is different from anything we've done before.», and it was developed to extend the age of the audience.Nintendo said the product was «specifically designed for children and those who are children of heart».
Nintendo Labo is a building game platform, developed as an extension for the Nintendo Switch console and that includes boxes and cardboard parts in its kits for the construction of different elements.
Labo kits
Two Labo Kits have been announced for release on April 20, 2018 in North America, Australia, and Japan and on April 27, 2018 in Europe. A set of accessories containing the templates, stickers, and tape will be available separately.
Nintendo chose Bill Nye to present the product on social networks. Few people would be a better option to present Nintendo Labo than Bill Nye, popular American scientist and presenter known for the series Bill Nye the Science Guy and Bill Nye Saves the World.
We still don't know the prices in Europe. In the USA, Nintendo Labo's first kits reach the Switch in two versions:
- The Variety Kit, with five games and Toy-Con, for $69.99;
- The Robot Kit, for 79.99 dollars.
