What is a self-assembly cardboard box?

Self-assembly boxes use folds and interlocking tabs to form the packaging and hold its parts together. The model shown on this page is designed to close without adhesive tape. Before choosing it, check that its format, strength and closure suit the product and its transport requirements.

Frequently asked questions about self-assembly boxes

How do you assemble a self-assembly box?

Shape the box along its folds and slot the tabs into place. The assembly sequence depends on the design; check it before preparing a batch of orders.

Can I ship the product without adhesive tape?

Assembly and transport have different requirements. Even if the box closes with interlocking tabs, confirm whether shipping needs an additional seal for the contents and expected handling.

Which dimensions should I provide?

Provide internal length, width and height, allowing room for protective materials. If you supply external dimensions or measurements from another box, specify this so we can check the usable space.

How do I choose the cardboard strength?

State the weight, fragility and transport or stacking conditions. A self-assembly design alone does not determine a box’s load capacity.

Can the dimensions and printing be customised?

Yes, format, dimension and flexographic printing options can be assessed. Send your artwork and product details so we can confirm the manufacturing options.

Is there a minimum order quantity and what is the price?

We manufacture custom boxes for businesses, with minimum orders depending on size, format and project specifications. Special pricing is available for large quantities; request a proposal based on your business requirements and order volume.

What is the manufacturing lead time?

The usual lead time is 2 to 3 days after the project is approved.

How to choose your self-assembly boxes

Assembly is only one part of the decision. The box must accommodate the product and its protective materials, support order preparation and suit the shipping conditions.

Dimensions, cardboard and closure

  • Internal dimensions: specify the length, width and height required, including dividers or protective materials.
  • Weight and fragility: explain what the box will contain and its total packed weight so we can assess the cardboard specification.
  • Packaging use: distinguish between product presentation, storage and courier shipping.
  • Closure: confirm whether the interlocking design is sufficient or whether shipping requires an additional seal.

Custom printed self-assembly boxes

This product offers format, dimension and flexographic printing options. Share your logo or artwork and identify the panels that need printing. The suitability of the format and printing is confirmed when the order is assessed.

What we need to prepare your quote

Provide the quantity, internal dimensions, product details, packed weight per box and printing requirements. Include the destination and preferred date. If you have an existing packaging sample or reference, explain what you want to retain or improve.
