Features and manufacturing options

Cardboard discs and reels for transporting and storing cables and other windable products. Designs and cardboard grades are assessed against roll dimensions, weight and the winding process.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a disc and a reel?

A disc is a circular component; a reel is the assembly supporting the wound product. Specify whether you need individual discs or an assembly and provide a drawing.

What winding capacity do they offer?

There is no single capacity. It depends on diameters, usable width, product, weight and design strength; these details must be confirmed for the order.

Can they fit my winding machine?

Share shaft, core and working area dimensions along with operating conditions. Compatibility is confirmed for the proposed design.

Which products can they hold?

They can be assessed for cables, wire, hoses and other windable products. Bend radius, weight and handling conditions must be checked.

What information is needed for a quote?

Provide quantity, dimensions or a drawing, product details, weight and operating conditions. Include printing, destination and your preferred date so a proposal can be prepared.

Is there a minimum quantity and a fixed price?

We manufacture custom boxes for businesses, with minimum orders depending on size, format and project specifications. Special pricing is available for large quantities; request a proposal based on your business requirements and order volume.

When can the order be manufactured and delivered?

The usual lead time is 2 to 3 days after the project is approved.

How to specify your packaging

A disc is a circular component; a reel is the assembly supporting the wound product. Specify whether you need individual discs or an assembly and provide a drawing. There is no single capacity. It depends on diameters, usable width, product, weight and design strength; these details must be confirmed for the order.

Format, material and process

  • Outside disc diameter.
  • Core diameter and shaft opening.
  • Usable width and roll weight.
  • Winding, unwinding and handling conditions.

Before manufacture, we review the format, material and required conditions with you. Approving a drawing or sample helps clarify dimensions, assembly and finish.

Information needed for your quote

Provide quantity, product details, dimensions or a drawing, weight and the intended operating process. Include printing requirements, destination and preferred date. A sample of your current packaging helps define the format and any changes needed.

Measurement guide for your enquiry

Information needed to assess the format
What to measureHow to specify it
DiscExternal diameter, centre-hole diameter and thickness, in mm.
Reel and windingUsable winding width, core diameter and intended finished diameter, in mm.
Winding equipmentProvide the shaft drawing and the equipment’s fixing requirements.
Packed weightWeight of the contents, accessories and protection, in kg; this is not a stated load rating.

Provide dimensions in millimetres and specify whether they are internal or external. Format and manufacturing are confirmed according to the design and material.
